IT REVOLUTIONS 2010

Emerging Trends for G-20 Seoul Summit in 2010

Hosted by ICST and KFeG, Sponsored by MOPAS

CALL FOR PAPERS

SCOPE

In April 2010 (22nd-23rd, Seoul, Korea), IT Revolutions will bring together funding agencies and government representatives from around the world with companies and the most visionary academic contributors to the IT Revolutions to set the future directions in ensuring a smooth transition while enabling IT to unleash its full power in serving the world. The premier conference of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications (ICST) IT Revolutions will account yearly on the progress made in building critical mass for the radical shift towards a IT-driven future while ensuring that we embark responsibly onto the momentum that will be turning the world around.

Newly emerging ubiquitous technologies are now once again transforming the world industry and society through u-Government services, u-commerce, and u-communities. On the other hand, it has become increasingly difficult for each nation to predict the direction and depth of changes in IT revolutions without reference to other nations¡¯ policies and strategies. Now is the time to share our ideas and experiences for repositioning the status of u-driven future with more innovative and visible goals, strategies, and solutions. Korea has constructed the leading information infrastructure in the world but need to move to the next stage of u-Society embracing the change as well as alignment with the social needs. We hope that this international symposium will provide a launching point for elevating the u-driven future with IT revolutions and opportunities grounded in coordinated efforts by government representatives, research funding agencies, IT corporate vendors, and academic community. The Symposium will serve as a platform for professionals around the world to discuss revolutionary aspects of upcoming challenges concerning convergence of technology, society, culture, and governance.

Furthermore, Korea was announced to host the G-20 Summit in Seoul in the year of 2010. Our conference will help explore the agenda for this summit regarding the use of IT for the sake of national competitiveness. Discussions and presentations are scheduled with the participation of the representative government agents in charge of policies and regulations in Korea.
